3. Fine-Tuning and Customization Infrastructure

Enterprise platforms provide managed infrastructure for fine-tuning models on your proprietary data. This includes secure data ingestion pipelines, training compute management, model versioning, and evaluation frameworks.

The platform handles the undifferentiated heavy lifting -- GPU provisioning, distributed training, checkpoint management -- so your team can focus on the data and evaluation criteria rather than infrastructure operations.

4. Monitoring, Observability, and Audit Trails

Every inference call in production needs to be logged, monitored, and auditable. Enterprise platforms capture request and response pairs, latency metrics, token usage, guardrail triggers, and user attribution.

Talent scarcity. AI infrastructure engineering talent is scarce and expensive. Platforms let your existing cloud engineering team operate AI workloads without hiring specialized ML operations staff.

Model evolution. New foundation models are released quarterly. Platforms abstract the model layer so you can swap models without rewriting application code -- critical when a better model emerges or a vendor changes pricing.
